ARTIST STATEMENT

“Much of my inspiration is drawn from the splendor of the natural world. Whether painting locally or on distant travels, landscapes or city scenes, I find a region’s scenic beauty a constant source of imagery.  My hope is to communicate a sense of calm… evoking a special moment, place or season… offering the viewer a soft pause to the clamor of each day.”

A  Pacific Northwest native, Julie lives and paints on tranquil Stretch Island in the South Sound.  Her watercolors reflect personal expressions of her love of nature.Always with a ready sketchbook, she finds her love of watercolor the perfect companion to her love of travel.  An award winning artist, including Best of Show, Julie’s work has been selected for corporate cards, calendars and commissions. Her paintings are included in both private and corporate collections throughout the United States and abroad.
