ARTIST STATEMENT

A self-taught artist, I came to painting rather late in life after raising a family. What began as a hobby fast became a passion and to this day, I continue to learn every time I pick up a paint brush. My genre is oils and my subject is mainly still lifes painted in a rather Old-World style – sometimes with a modern twist. I enjoy putting different shapes, colors and textures of quiet simple things together and then working to bring it all to life on canvas. For me, there are few joys or challenges greater than this.

Originally from Berkeley, California, I have made my home on beautiful Whidbey Island for the last 45 years.
