ARTIST STATEMENT"From my studio I watch the continually changing
light on Puget Sound and each day brings a new artistic challenge. I
begin with a careful drawing, then paint the basic washes quite freely
and gradually weave color through my painting to connect the shapes and
build up transparent layers of paint to emphasize the play of light and
shadow. I am always excited by glowing colors and strong shapes. I want
to capture the light as it hits the edge of an object and glows within
the shadows. I paint in celebration of my vision and to encourage the
viewer to see the world in a new and special way." Pamela Harold is a noted watercolor artist, teacher and lecturer.
