ARTIST STATEMENT

"I believe it’s important to make our voices known and to share our hearts with others using our artistic expressions. Our relationships to those around us define something of who we are inside and when we recount those stories to one another; most will feel included.”

Originally from the French Acadian Valley of Memramcook, New Brunswick, Canada, I currently reside in Bremerton, Washington with my husband Brian. I have been pursuing a professional career as a visual artist for twelve years and three years ago chose to go back to school to share my passion for the arts as an art teacher. I currently teach at the secondary level at Crosspoint Academy in Bremerton and have a true desire to share the freedom and beauty of artistic expression.  I believe that the joy of teaching is directly proportionate to the enthusiasm of practicing our own skill and pursuing our own creative ideas.

My formal studies were conducted at the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and I am currently working on a Master’s in Art Education through Texas Tech University.

I am an active member in our art community and believe it is important to expose and immerse our children, friends and neighbors into this generation’s art society. I am the founder of a quarterly art walk in Old Town Silverdale. This is the Art Walk’s 7th year and it continues to be successful at introducing local artists from our community by displaying their work in local businesses. I am an active member in the Women Painters of WA and in the Federation of Canadian Artists.
