ARTIST STATEMENT

"The medium I use is acrylic tube paint and house paint. My subject matter is the landscape. I abstact my shapes and use Cezanne as a model for my construction.

I paint from something, whether it is a sketch or a photo. My color is saturated and usually not mixed. I am a studio artist, and work on many paintings at the same time."

I attended the University of Colorado, La Verne University, Citrus College, Monterey Peninsula College, Pacific Lutheran Univesity, Evergreen College and the University of Puget Sound where I received my B.A. in Art

I have taught painting in California and the Northwest.

My studies were with major artists and I was influenced by the impressionist and post impressionist painters as well as Bay Area artists of the 60's. The abstract painters of the East were also a big influence on me.
